Reiference

In which Rei is the maître étalon of reality.

Kwa just couldn’t get it right any way he tried. He had drawn that angle dozens of times, it had never been hard, but somehow, this once, he was completely stuck at the sketch stage.
He glanced at the clock. An hour already? He groaned with frustration. It wasn’t like him to give up, but he would—
“Need some help?”
Startled, Kwa turned his head and saw a friendly figure that hadn’t been here the second before: Reimus, in casual clothes, leaning back in a desk chair, bare feet propped up on Kwa’s desk.
“L-Lord Rei!” Kwa couldn’t help but blush. “How did you—”
“Know you were having trouble? I like to watch over my friends, literally~” Rei crossed his arms, biceps bulging under the baggy sleeves. “So, about that pic you can’t draw. I think you need some references, and I’m here to provide! Just tell me what pose you need.”
A million sinful visions went through Kwa’s mind at that offer, but he tried his best to ignore them. “Well, Sir, it’s a standard pose of a giant looming over a tiny, but to get the angle right, I’d need to—”
“Shrink? Sure, just use the buttons on your tablet.”
Kwa looked down at his tablet. Right there on the screen, two buttons had appeared, glowing in ethereal colours: [+] and [−]. He looked back up at Rei. The thought that it couldn’t be this straightforward didn’t cross his mind. Without considering the implications, he tapped the [−] button…

…and like that, he was — according to the info popping up on his screen — just an inch tall in his own seat. He took a moment to look at his surroundings, trying to make sense of his own home; he could barely recognise the objects he was so familiar with.
Rei’s foot slammed into Kwa’s seat, his mighty heel mere millimetres from the tiny artist, interrupting his bewilderment. Kwa craned his neck to look at the plump toes topping the smooth sole far above, and realised they were descending upon him. He let himself get pressed and pinched between the big and index toes — not that he could have resisted — and a moment later, they set him down on the floor, with Rei standing up above him.
The view was… godly; there was no other word in Kwa’s vocabulary. From his place between the toes, his head didn’t even reach up to their top, in effect fencing him with walls of flesh. He looked up the impossibly tall leg of Rei’s jeans, then up the mountain-like hoodie-clad buff torso, until he met his Lord-friend’s eye staring down at him.
“So, what pose should I strike?” Rei’s voice boomed.
Kwa’s mind snapped back to the task at hand. “I— uh— Sir—”
“Wait a sec, I can’t hear you from down there.” Rei took his phone out of his pocket and let it float in the air in front of him. Without Kwa’s intervention, Rei’s perfect face appeared on his tablet. “There we go! Now you can even tell me if you want shots from my point of view. So, what will it be?”

31 hours later…

Kwa put the finishing touches to his last picture and laid down on the floor. Rei’s soles loomed above him, on either side of him and almost pressed together, filling most of his vision — the only thing he could see outside of this heavenly tunnel being Rei’s face smirking down at him.
“Getting tired of drawing me, little kwartist?”
Kwa responded with a whimper. Rei could read in his mind that he wanted to carry on forever, but that his body wasn’t holding on; the words “[Indefatigable] Kwa” almost formed on his lips so the pixel-sized artist could keep drawing him for a few eternities, but he decided against it, preferring to toy with him another way.

Kwa watched Rei stand up; he had shrunken himself a few more times since the beginning of the story, and could now fit snugly in a wrinkle of Rei’s sole, which was at this very instant lifting up into space before crashing down upon him.
Rei ground Kwa beneath the ball of his foot, twisting in all dimensions and making sure to use all the weight of reality. Once he was happy with the unrelenting amount of pain and humiliation inflicted, he plopped down on Kwa’s couch, a console in hand, and started playing, waiting for Kwa to emerge.

Kwa woke up as his body and senses had finally all come back together. He looked around him, pain running through his neck as he craned it to try and see beyond the infinite expanse of perfect flesh. He knew where he was anyway, not through his observation but through Rei’s absolute domination: the imposing presence of his Lord-friend filled his whole world, and the tendrils of pathetism were overrunning his every thought.
Now his only thought was to climb. As if guided by a figurative leash that Rei materialised from the base of his big toe, his frail body jerked forward towards where didn’t seem to be up nor down. He crawled

until Rei’s sunny face slowly rose over the horizon of his toe gap.

Kwa sat on the edge of the bottomless cliff to catch his breath. His timeline leash, having almost run its course, wrapped itself tight around his neck into a heavy collar.
Rei had dropped his console, hands behind his head, and focused his blue eye on Kwa’s barely unseeable form. The weight of his sight and attention being directed at Kwa oppressed and belittled the minuscule thing into horny terror. Kwa wanted nothing more than to reach closer to his God, even if it took him many more years. He took a few steps forward, ready to descend onto the bottom of Rei’s jeans…
and his foot met the soft fabric of Rei’s hoodie.

He startled and took a step backwards. It didn’t make sense — he was still standing between Rei’s towering toes, yet his chest was within reach…
“You look so cute when you’re confused~ Ever heard of perspective play? When reality only depends on your point of reference, the impossible becomes trivial, and the world is your [canvas] to render as you wish.”
Kwa’s tablet pen was in his hand.
“Now, be a doll and remove my hoodie, will you? It’s getting a bit hot in there.”

Kwa somehow had enough brain left to pick up on the meaning of Rei’s order. As though guided by his own free will, he pressed the tip of his pen into Rei’s hoodie and started erasing. The pastel fabric vanished under his brush, slowly revealing Rei’s bare brawny chest; it was not long before Kwa had frantically completely taken off Rei’s hoodie and could admire the massive landscape that made mountains look like valleys. As soon as his work was done, Kwa dropped his pen, and without a moment’s hesitation, jumped into Rei’s pillowy pecs
and fell

The God frowned. “Don’t forget who the point of reference is, you waste of a worm.” His face mellowed into a chuckle. “Just messing with you! You look so adorable when you’re terrified~ Know what, I’m feeling generous, I’ll spare you the trip.”
Just as he got to his knees, Kwa saw Rei’s eye lock on him. Before he could react, Rei flicked his head upwards, and Kwa was sent flying into the air

landed right between Rei’s pecs closing on him, squeezing the air out of his lungs before he could take a breath. The massive muscles blanketed his whole world and firmly cushioned him from the dangers of freedom. There was no space for thought or resistance, only the agonising comfort of Rei’s ownership.
“Sleep tight, bedmite, and let your dreams be mine~”

When Kwa woke up again, he

- Kwa would like to stay tiny on Rei forever, but something pulls at his mind; he presses the [+] button to grow back, but that button actually grows Rei (he never *said* who this button would grow)
- Kwa is awed and keeps pressing it until Rei is bigger than the universe

Rei didn’t feel like doing that. He crossed out the words in the writer’s mind and let his actions write the rest of his story.
He stood up from the couch, and as he was going on his way out, he noticed something about the door: the frame was made for one of those old, taller 7-foot-high doors, as though fit for his Big Bro’s height. The 5’7" God didn’t like that. He was the [tallest], and he didn’t need to grow to show it. He bent down to fit through the frame and squeezed his way down the corridor and into the kitchen.
There on the table was a gorgeous Black Forest cake, and a note reading: “All for you, [lil bro]~”. Rei gingerly picked up between two fingers what was rightfully his and downed the sugary treat with a mere gulp. He didn’t bother checking the fridge and stepped out of the second-story window, into the street.

Hands in his hoodie pockets, he strolled downtown, passersby moving out of the way without glancing him in the eye. Well, almost all passersby.
A man bumped into his leg, looked away from his phone and down at Rei. “Oi, get your hair off your face and watch where you’re going, you dense fucker!”
Rei spat at the offender. “You called me dense? I’ll show you [dense].” The pavement effortlessly cracked under his feet. “[Little shits] like you need to show respect to their biggers, instead of staining my shoes.” He took a casual step forward, not bothering to look down at the already-forgotten filthwad getting squished under his sole, then another, leaving small craters behind him.
He took a turn left and stopped by a building he had often visited, wondering if the lab rat was home right now. 39th floor, right? Looking through the window, he couldn’t see anyone. A shame, he would have to toy with him another time.

A few paces farther, he was in the countryside, looking for a spot to relax far from the hubbub of the city. A mountain close by looked [comfortable] enough to lay against; a standard-size pillow would suffice to rest his pretty head on. He could sense the rubble-rabble stuck in the treads of his shoes, panicking at the thought of falling out and splatting down on the ground a few inches below.
He figured he could have a little snack before dozing off to sleep. The universe looked rather plump and juicy, just what he needed for hydration. He reached his hand into the starry sky, plucked it off like a grape, and popped it in his mouth. He sucked on that universe for a moment to get a good taste, then rolled it between his teeth and popped it.
